Oksana Okhapkina – Ukrainian artist
Born in 1970 in Central Asia, Turkmenistan. Oksana’s father served as a border guard in the Central Asian border district of the former USSR, so the family often moved. She spent her youth in Kyrgyzstan, where she graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Bishkek. The specialty at that time was the new “Electronic Computing Machines Complexes and Systems”. She worked as a programmer for more than 20 years, where for the last 10 years these have been international companies LUXSOFT, DELL, Deutsche Bank.
In 2014, she first took brushes and paints and discovered the magical world of art. It was so exciting that she began to study the history of art, be acquainted with the work of artists, attend master classes, take courses, and study painting.
In 2018, she finally left the work of a programmer and completely switched to the world of art and creativity.
She tried various techniques, experimented with materials, most of all she likes working in oil. She is attracted by contrast and color, simplicity and monochrome, laconicism, rhythm, elements of national clothes and ceramics. The source of inspiration is travel.
She lives and works in Kyiv.
